The Chromatics - In Shining Violence

Saturday, October 20, 2007

Here's a Seattle based great indie rock band that i've just discovered, The Chromatics. Their robotic vocals can be so druggy and alcoholic. Somebody put their to oil some alcohol? Anyway, you'll love this record if you are interested in dark disco melodies.

Pitchfork says It's the best new music, don't believe to them!
Like labelmates Glass Candy, the Chromatics recently ditched their early aggro/noise-punk beginnings. Switching labels from the art-rock institution Troubleman Unlimited to the sleeker Italians Do It Better imprint (both founded by New Jersey resident Mike Simonetti), the trio's gone even darker, feeding sultry, minimal disco-punk through spidery horror flick synths and scuffed guitars. Debuting this sound on last year's Shining Violence CD-R, and continuing it on the retro-electro IDIB comp After Dark and a series of 12"s, Chromatics tighten up their songwriting on Night Drive, finally giving their desolate, shadow-lurking disco the melodic bite it only hinted at previously.

Dead Kennedys - Milking The Sacred Cow: Review

Thursday, October 18, 2007

Dead Kennedys were the most popular and respected American punk rock band with hits such as ‘Holiday In Cambodia’, ‘California Uber Alles’ and ‘Police Truck’. Over the years, their catalogue has sold millions of units. Now, for the first time since the release of “Give Me Convenience Or Give Me Death”, Dead Kennedys have compiled their best-known recordings into
one glorious package. The brand-new track-listing also includes other favourites such as ‘Kill The Poor’ and ‘Viva Las Vegas’ and two previously unreleased live tracks. This gorgeous release in addition to being the ideal package for existing loyal fans, also serves as a fresh and compact introduction to this legendary and celebrated band.

The Killers cover the 1979 Joy Division song Shadowplay on the soundtrack. However, all live Joy Division performances in the film are performed by the actors. The actors contribute a cover of an original Joy Division song (Transmission) to the soundtrack. Incidental tracks by 1970s artists like David Bowie and the Sex Pistols are the original recordings. New Order provided the original incidental music for the soundtrack.

My name is Bulut and I was born 1985 in Istanbul, Turkey. I discovered the magic of music when I was ten years old, and i used to have a small old radio that i started to record many hit songs to old casettes. Collecting records was not my bag, then i discovered downloading songs on Internet. My love on music has no end, so i decided to share the songs made my day on this blog 10 November in 2005. For me, music is an ocean has no coast.

New Singles
1. Ladytron - Destroy Everything You Touch (Hot Chip Remix)
Hot Chip's remix for Liverpool outfit Ladytron's "Destroy Everything You Touch", from a forthcoming UK single, gives the song some exotic color without taking its eyes off of the dancefloor. The original, pulled from excellent album The Witching Hour to become Pitchfork's #28 single of 2005, was shivery, gale-force synthpop.

2. Chromatics - I'm On Fire

3. Shout Out Louds - Impossible

8. Blood Red Shoes – I Wish I Was Someone Better [Youtube Video]

9. Timbaland & OneRepublic – Apologize [Youtube Video]

10. Velvet Revolver - The Last Fight [Youtube Video]
A very boring song from a very boring rock band, they're decided to fuck my ears like Celine Dion and James Blunt did before with the song.

Skye Sweetnam - Scary Love Lyrics
Santana - This Boy's Fire Lyrics
Lil' Wayne - Comfortable Lyrics

Radiohead - In Rainbows Review

The MM Review
Rating: 8.0

Without doubt, In Rainbows will include in many the best of 2007 lists, because it came in right time with a right revolution that we can download the whole record paying how much we want to pay. Thom Yorke's first solo record came last year, The Eraser. It was quite far away from being an apparent record. Thanks to other members Greenwoods, Ed O'Brien, Phil Selway, and our depressed electronic boy Tom Yorke, this has been almost flawless record for the upcoming winter and autumn. There are many key tracks, and acustic sweets in, In Rainbows, you want to think about rains, rainbows, clouds and cold. Yep, this ain't a guitar driven, upbeat rock record. There is one thing missing In Rainbows that it sounds too heavy many times. However, don't expect too much from a band who created records like The Bends and Ok Computer at past. Etheral music in front of Yorke's painfull vocal sounds adorable at times. Once you've discovered the hypnotic opener 15 step, the following noisier piece Bodysnatchers, theatrical tune All I Need, there is no way out you'll love this record. Despite its nothing's new concept, everything is okey, nothing is spotty, this is the best Radiohead since OK Computer.

MM picks: 15 Step, All I need, Jigsaw Falling into Place

Beach Boys - Pet Sounds

There's a cool thing about this post, i don't know exactly the reason, though. For a while, i was listening Pet Sounds in my dreams, like it's saying that you should post something about the record. After seeing this weird dream more than three times, i thought that i should post something magical about this magical record. Most of you know Beach Boys, and hell yes they're some kind legendary, coolly band. Connection between nostalgic sounds and orchestral vocals are almost perfect in Pet Sounds. It's one of those rare records can be marked as one of the most original concept records. These four tracks are the standout tracks for those readers who haven't met them yet. Pets are always cool, so Beach Boys too.
