Animal Collective - Strawberry Jam - 2007

Friday, July 06, 2007

Some of us love Animal Collective, and their new Strawberry Jam comes in September, i loved
all the songs. Yeah, it's leaked like every new record. Every song sounds great! Like Grass
and other typical Collective songs, Peacebone opens Strawberry Jam with full of Animal happiness. The longest songs such as For Reverend Green, Fireworks are the best songs for sure - slow and sure! Like what they wrote on their myspace, concrete, soul and visual!

Kristin Hersh - Hips And Makers

Thursday, July 05, 2007

Hersh dug into her backlog of compositions for material of an intensely personal nature that she felt wouldn't be suitable for her band on her solo debut. In stark contrast to her work with Throwing Muses, Hips and Makers (1994) is almost entirely acoustic. The album opener "Your Ghost" offers a magical acustic taste with R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe and it's the best song. And also i love the title song Hips And Makers. I love this record, what should i say more about it?

Julian Cope - You Gotta Problem With Me

Wednesday, July 04, 2007

You Gotta Problem With Me, Julian Cope's first new album for 18 months, he addresses such currently controversial issues as religion, misogyny and homophobia, corporate greed and the destruction of Mother Earth. Released across two 28-minute-long CDs. A obscure record that needs time to get, mostly a depressive shit. It becomes very hard to go on tolerating middle-aged artists. He loves The Doors, Scott Walker, Tim Buckley and other weird names like Pere Ubu - That's for sure. Julian Cope needs to make music in his own form, because i smell of The Doors on every song on this record. Dark Orgasm was hard to stomach. You Gotta Problem With Me is better than Dark Orgasm. It's a good thing, though.

Ash - Twilight Of The Innocents

Tuesday, July 03, 2007

I listened the new Ash record today, and so i liked it, not very much. Don't get me wrong, i always try to do my best while listening to a record. The whole record is merely okay, some nice guitar hooks, college rock, pop punk, or maybe falling of a good band! A song from this brand new record named Dark And Stormy reminds an unforgatable hit song Under the Milky Way by The Church, and i first asked myself why i liked this song? The reason is simple, it's because of that beautiful Under the Milky Way. Watch The Church -Under the Milky Way on Youtube

Simple Minds - Don't You Forget About Me

Propelled by the success of The Breakfast Club, the song became the band's only number-one U.S. hit (though, by all accounts, Simple Minds did not much care for it). And it still can be heard on music channels, radio stations. Don't You Forget About Me is not that kind of hit singles, it's not one of those. Its soft play, nice lyrics, beautiful sound are absolutely memorable!

Singles
1. The Clash - London Calling(flashback!)
Don't be surprised, unfortunately they're not coming back. But i'm not satisfied enough with the new songs below. Honestly, they are crap. Yes, you heard it right, it's very hard to find some music worth writing for these days. Not only is this hard, there is also nothing that sounds like the amazing song The Clash did before 28 years ago. Where are you hardworking artists? Or we all became the money worshippers?

2. Go! Team – Grip Like Vice
Whatever you call it dance punk, electroclash or indie electronic, this song is nice!

3. Feist - Somewhere Down the Road
Joining the likes of Bright Eyes and Cat Power, Leslie Feist took a break from being everywhere to cover a song by singer/songwriter Jesse Harris for the soundtrack to upcoming film The Hottest State. Nice song! Listen up the song at Pitchfork

4. Natasha Bedingfield – Soulmate
5. Wombats - Backfire At The Disco
6. Concretes – Oh Boy
7. Robin Thicke - Lost Without U
8. Badly Drawn Boy – Promises (7” + 12”)
9. Jackknife Lee – Making Me Money
10. Shapeshifters – Pusher
