The group has everything that needs to conform to the currently received ideas of what a band is. They have musical tastes as well as friends in common, heavily influenced late 70s punkers such as Joy Division, Gang of Four and Sonic Youth, taking experimental noises and blending these noises onto their music without leaving what pop culture needs. All of these create Bloc Party and make them favorite indie rock band since their prosperous debut Silent Alarm.

"A Weekend In The City" is band's new excitement in which they're running to more complex sound waves. At first appearance, it's definitely hard to understand what's going on in the record. Like anything that seems rigid at first glance, it doesn't want to show most excellent side of itself. Believe that every good record sounds queer at first. That's why because you discover grateful composition on the songs time after time. Every song has its own beauty, searching blow to get you in. Powerful guitar lines of "Hunting For Witches", dramatic beginning with "Uniform" and its perfect exiting, smooth ideas in "Where Is Home?" -- are giving an account of "A Weekend In The City".

With "A Weekend In The City", Bloc Party proves why they're so formative today's indie music trend, one step forward, and it never looks back. Release date: 6 Feb. 2007

Let's see how patient you are when it comes to listening some avant-garde, weird songs. Maybe it's not as hard as driving a car in middle of traffic or meeting a chatterbox friend while you are in a hurry. It's only music, and it won't kill you. But it's hard to listen these throughout.

This song belongs to Oxford based indie rock band Young Knives, but it's not a innocent song. Oh, How he sings chorus in a thin lunatic voice, you forest runaway! Interesting but it kills your patience. Comedy!

This is not avant-garde but cabaret, gypsy music and opera. The song comes from one of my favorite london based band , however their songsare hard to stomach sometimes. Silver Apples is very tough and unbelievable band from New York. I'm sure most of you don't know them. Today, you'll listen dreadfully circular song of them, Gypsy Love which is further exploit the feelings one experiences once love is denied and the raw emotions that surface. If you love experimental and psychedelic music at the same time, this is rare! This is particular. The song comes from best Silver Apples record Contact (1969). Fine!, see you in space!

This is awesome, one of the weirdest cover that i've heard in my life. The Residents are definitely UPA (unidentified playing artists).

What are the results? Are you able to listen all of these? If you're not, i have bad news for you.

I'm reading more positive and full of praise writings about Beirut as time goes on. Now watch out! We've three new nice songs which are included in the Lon Gisland EP (2007). Orchestral Elephant Gun, a new version of Scenic World encouraging balkan music with playful drum beats, feeling the warm atmosphere of Balkan countries flawlessly. As the Ep goes on interestingly, a lovely work shines through your body (The Long Island Sound). Whenever i try to listen it from the beginning, it ends again fast. Good moments are always short. So he might have been embraced, as it is the results were seriously magical.

Following the perfect new works ,"Carousels" , the closing song starts playing. There is nothing to argue, there is no time to speak of it, just simply, elegant! Beirut Band Page

I'm sure that you listened this band, it's easy to meet the band via popular music sites. Good musicians like Tony Allen, Damon Albarn ( Gorillaz, Blur), Paul Simonon (The Clash) and Simon Tong (The Verve) made a decision working together on this new project. The result is a nameless band with a couple of unfinished obscure songs.

Blase voice of Damon Albarn during fourty minutes is hard to tolerate. It mostly sounds as a Demon Albarn solo record, i don't know if he needs someone while creating another Blur-like record. The Good, the Bad & the Queen compared Blur's 1994 masterpiece Parklife. I wish that it were similar to Parklife, some songs really sound horrible. It was as if they didn't want to make this album, and also first three songs are easy to get, trying to colour your mood.

The good things that i found in this record are "Northern Whale","Kingdom Of Doom" and "Three Changes", the bad things are most of the songs, the queen is...? Who is the queen?

Every record has some good songs, even if it's the worst one. But entirety is the most important
fact in a band. It's one of the worst record yet that i've heard in the year. Band Page

Industrial
How it feels like dancing in a graveyard, wearing silver shining clothes? It feels nothing of course. Fine! Just trying to absorb the music. Heavyhearted mechanical vocals, atmospheric dark sounscapes which we used to listen in the genre, industrial dance. Avant garde and stressful electro-dance tunes like "Magnifishit", "Pedafly" get attention of listener, it makes you think about the whole world's pathetic end.

"haZe", "jaHer", "ugLi" frustrate other musical composition on the record. It's no longer atmospheric or dark because lack of the harmony. That makes you think about 'It needs something more'. So that time "PolitikiL" appears, again you're in the middle of dirty streets. Action!

"Mythmaker" is mostly paralysed by dark side of dance beats, it's absolutely like watching a 21st century action and horror film combination. Interesting listen but it's not amazing, though.

As a Los Angeles based rock band, they are a fairly tech-heavy band, and in my opinion Manic is fruitful combination of today's popular rock music genres such as Indie, Modern or Alternative Rock.

'We’re not pretentious, but we think we do a really good job at representing ourselves and our songs when we play them live.' says Zane Smythe (guitar). As far as it touches me, they dropped an impressive EP which proves band's desire will continue to reach the audience. Dramatic and thunderous heavy alternative works such as "Leaving Araby", "In a Room On Fire" embodies a lot of attractive textures, featuring self-possessed vocal performance.

Floor boards is quite clear to describe what kind of music taste they're going with. The EP portrays that they're affected with mania, and gloomy, prolific lyrics to produce the music they like. Sound waves keeps gloomy element, it gets colder and colder on closing song "Mr. Evans". It's manic, sensitive and broken hearted.

Manic is alternative rock band from Los Angeles. Musically, Manic admit they are not here to cater or to kowtow to radio. They just want to write songs with plenty of depth, breadth and scope, songs that they can replicate live.

The Dark Romantics melodic indie rock band from Florida, due to their new album "Some Midnight Kissin' release on Feb 13, i wanted to spread their airy, dreamy and romantic rock sound. "Some Midnight Kissin'" have just appeared in the mailbox today, i totally amazed by brooding singing styles and energic but bittersweet tunes. The review is coming soon!

I was working on this project for two weeks, it was tiring. First I thought it'd be easy but you always think that it's easy when you're at the beginning of your duty. Not that easy! Actually reconsidering and listening all those indie rock albums, chosing the best ones took my two week. Can you imagine all those indie rock albums in front of you, and you should draw the most brilliant ones to the dear readers. Yeah at last, made the list, and very happy about it. Because in this list you can find the best alt.indie stuffs. I'm sure of it, it'll be help someone to make her/his day beautiful! 1. Tortoise - Millions Now Living Will Never Die - 1996
A Victor Hugo quote maybe shows the right way to describe this album 'Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent' Very exquisite. Emotional rock music without a human voice but human touch!

2. Bonnie Prince Billy - I See A Darkness - 1999
It certainly is one of the best record throughout 90s, it was very deep. Very dark.
A highly satisfying musical experience. It shows importance of the words which is hard
to tell during painful experiences of life.

3. Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation - 1988
"Daydream Nation" incudes perfect instrumental explosives which can break into
pieces the whole world, noise machine!

4. The Pixies - Doolittle - 1989
Pixies' the youngest, the most lovely guitar lines, and perfect songs of the band are very appreciated in alt.indie music after their separation.
Their contribution to indie rock is impossible to debate.

5. The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead - 1986
The Queen Is Dead, Bigmouth Strikes Again, There Is a Light That Never Goes Out, all the best The Smiths works are included in the record. Lyrically, musically, its impression huge on indie rock scene.

6. The Go-Betweens - 16 Lovers Lane - 1988
This record is very different, having sensibility of love, taking rich textures of rock music,
and also it's from Australia's greatest pop group ever. Something like falling in love and
rocking at the same time.

7. Bob Mould - Workbook - 1990
Masterpiece, and also it's one of the best record in 90s.

8. The High Llamas - Gideon Gaye - 1994
"Gideon Gaye" is sneaking to ears carefully, and waiting right time to stole your heart. Once it got your heart, never gives back to you what's yours.

9. Afghan Whigs - Gentlemen - 1993
The Afghan Whigs' sound was quite independent, self-reliant and mind-blowing!

10. Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea - 1998
Everyone knows or should know about it, yes it's one of the best indie rock record ever made.
