Of Montreal - Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer ?

Modern Music Review
Indie Rock
Of Montreal creates pleased indie rock music on their new strong record "Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer?", knowing that this makes unpleased fans after powerful effort "Sunlandic Twins" or extra alternative "The Gay Parade".

You'll learn to be happy with the new Of Montreal, it's filled with a love of life. Every scene of the life could match the melodies in "Hissing Fauna...". It serves the good things and the bad things
in same plate but it's mixed into the wise pop melodies. Happy vocals drive to prolific indie and alternative rock scene, thin voices ride into depressive disco melodies. "Gronlandic Edit" is the most perfect and simple disco oriented indie rock melody, despite its exhausting queer singing style, it holds your hand and shows where dance-floor is located.

Fantasizing tunes like "A Sentence Of Sorts In Kongsvinger" makes you think about a supermarket where Of Montreal's new record is playing, and you're running and running to fill basket with enjoyable goods. At the same time some songs are a bit superfluous, making exhausted experience on listener. However, again cuts like Faberge Fails For Shuggle, Labyrinthian Pomp only exist in Of Montreal's plentiful music. It's good to listening this record while jogging or teasing to your neighbour, specially the old uncle!

Who wants to listen an ultra varied, ultra lovely record? If you feel so, touch delicate "Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer?" with your fingers. Here's the choice which makes you listen more as time goes on.
Listen the whole record!

The Ataris

Thursday, January 25, 2007

Have you heard about the new The Ataris record? I know this kind of opening sentences suck. At first glance, they don't make any sense. So what if i say that i've a new cool, flowing alt. rock song from new The Ataris. You want to hear the songs if someone says 'new album is great', 'that song is cool', 'try it out'... All of these are crappy! Because you need to hear the song for having something in common.

With Welcome the Night (releases on Feb 20), The Ataris have not only reinvented themselves, they’ve also rediscovered the transcendent power of music, incorporating their love for ‘90s alt-rock, psychedelic Brit rock and indie rock into a single, coherent expression. The record was produced by Nick Launay, who has worked with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, David Byrne, XTC and Public IMAGE Ltd. These are the suitable reasons to get excited.

Pop Levi - The Return to Form Black Magick Party

Glamorous rock! Fancy clothes, outlandish hair styles, maybe these were the most exciting elements of glam rock. If i say this record entirely sounds like Marc Bolan, it won't be a wrong observation. From pop to glam rock to freak folk, that is to say totally T.rex follower. There are interesting playful tunes in this debut, but it's not a departure. He wants to bring those glamorous tunes back or he wants to play the music he likes. In my opinion it's a good thing to revival but at the same time it's not captivating. Creating and walking your own path in music is the most apreciated choice. Moreover no musician wants their music to be compared to that of other artists. Because every artist believes that they've a different path. But a question comes to mind in that time "why don't you get rid of that heavy influence?"

I don't want show "The Return To Form Black Magic" as an uninteresting record. Songs like "Flirting", "Sugar Assault Me" have capacity to impress listener but as for the soul of record, it hangs between old and again old. "Flirting" is the best work of Pop Levi yet, brilliant!

Pop levi's debut captures more or less shiny, playful, tuneful air of 70s, and yes the days which belong to historical rock bands such as Beatles, Marc Bolan's Trex. Despite its a little oldish
atmosphere, everyone may enjoy with this new record. Release date: 30 Jan Pop Levi Myspace

Top Five Best Classic Rock Melody

Tuesday, January 23, 2007

Now we're back to past...They'd done everything could be done in rock music. Some kind of crazy period it was or was it totally fascinating? Now that part is very important for me. I believe that rock n' roll is totally fascinating term. Yeah, we're entirely covered by indie rock bands now, and i love this variation. But you should know the history to survive, am i right? Ah!, and also if the tragical deaths didn't exist in rock n' roll history, it would be perfect! Bob Dylan, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones aren't included in the list. A good list should show something to people that have something in different taste not in common, and it shouldn't has a purpose to flatter, that's all opinions.

1. Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit
Alice in Wonderland, that's all i want to say about the song, never and ever it gets old. "Classic" gets the meaning by the song.

2. Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way
I think it's one of the best band ever. It's so emotional, sometimes it touches you, and they
know how to rock! How to rock???

3. New York Dolls - Personality Crisis
Ouch! Make up is quite rollicking when the subject is to reject ordinary, everything-same lifestyle. Dolls, i've been listening you, always will be listening.

4. Ramones - Blitzkrieg Bop
Hey ho! Let's go! They're forming in a straight line, They're going through a tight wind, The kids are losing their minds, the blitzkrieg bop!

5. Moody Blues - Nights In White Satin
This is the most striking song. If you're in a bad mood, don't try this one!

Norah Jones - Not Too Late

Sunday, January 21, 2007

Rating: 7/10
Modern Music Review
Norah releases her third and most personal album yet, Not Too Late, a collection of 13 original songs all of which were either written or co-written by Norah herself.

She got attention of the world since debut "Come Away with Me", selling 18 million copies worldwide and winning Jones eight Grammy awards. In addition, she worked with master producer Arif Mardin, and showed to the world that she's well-talented like best jazz vocalists Billie Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald.

Norah's plentiful music keep charming us. Romantic vocals which we used to listen on previous records, sensibility of a woman while writing free and easy lyrics, high soothing songs, coffee smells, country, blues, jazz, contemporary folk...All of these are included in "Not Too Late". Only thing i'd criticize some songs sound like they're included only to fill up the record, it's so boring realizing that whereas songs like "Sinkin' Soon", "Until The End" were quite adorable to praise throughout.

Norah, makes something warming up inside of you with her voice with her appearance,
so hearty performing she has. That makes the music more absorbing while drinking a cup of hot drink. Certainly she doesn't deserve only some adjectives written abow, you haven't listened full emotive track 8 "My Dear Country" yet. This is one of the best song that Norah wrote.

Near to go, mellow combining of her goes low even though good-balanced songs appears on middle of the record regularly. In the end everything looks fine, covering your face full of sweety. Release date: 30 Jan | Norah Jones Official
MM picks: Until The End, Rosie's Lullaby, My Dear Country
