Modern Music Review
Alternative Pop/Rock
She's started to drop her solo album in early 1994, took a break from the group (Throwing Muses), and following "The Grotto" (2003) , now this is her seventh heavy-acustic studio album.
Kristin Hersh's easily broken, sometimes sharp voice is primary material of the record, and don't forget iridescent violins , guitar cracks, and most of all massive songs one after another.
"Learn to Sing Like a Star" proves Hersh's mellow harmonies get stronger for alternative rock listener, who love to feel themselves as adult rock music lover. Pretty nice fourteen works are quite satisfying, bright, and ready to cuddle us. Despite songs' short length, songs like "Nerve Endings" or "Peggy Lee" are bittersweet compositions in the middle of natural atmosphere. She also touches to you with her improved songwriter.
After the listening, you are right to complaint its short play, but if you consider "Learn To Sing Like A Star" luxurious airy play, sir, your steps are on the right way. Kristin Hersh has already known to sing like a star. Release date: January 23, 2007

9. House of Love
10. Beach House
Yesss. I said "yes" like a snake, eh? The bands are so important noted abow. This is so music contains pure beauty of fresh waterfalls. You can find yourself dreaming unreasonably, so that's not rational behaving to listen all of them in one day, but i can do it and i'm still alive... Beach House is a promising, and very impressive band. It's gorgeous to see a courteous band is growing continuously.
This Jesus & Mary Chain truly fits our century, let me sing it loud 'I see people going down , All gods people going down'
Jesus & Mary Chain - Sowing Seeds
Of course we don't need to sit and cry, saying 'oh people are so cruel', what we need to do is having knowledge of the things going on in this world. The Awareness, maybe it's the most powerful weapon of people. 'I want peace, I'm sowing seeds'

Joy Division - Closer

MM classics
It's like an old wine, ten songs, ten stories. "Closer" reminds me a pathetic love story whenever i listen to it. It's the strongest combination of gloomy sound as well as paranoid, flowing to your veins so slowly but not painful way.
It teaches you how to understand life in different ways. With regard to Division's Closer or Curtis' lyrics we can see that something dark comes out of its shell. Ian Curtis tells lots of thing about real face of life. That makes "Closer" closer to humans' life story. It always starts good, and ends in a bad way.
"Closer" is an entire record, it's division of ways, fading of flowers, a true experience of music. Especially arrangements, deep and dark sound waves, all these become the most dramatic music when playing on backround. Curtis' affective voice, gentle bass guitars and stunning drums shot you down! It grasps your hair, pulls you down and down. With the last bullet fired by gun, which is called "Decades", will be last shot. Finally you find yourself smashed into pieces. As for musically and lyrical expression of "Closer", it's one of the most fascinating album on the earth yet. Where have they been? Where have they been?...

Kristin Hersh - Learn To Sing Like A Star
Since Kristin's debut "Hips and Makers", she has known how to keep consistent career step by step, released never crappy solo and new "Learn To Sing Like A Star" shows that Maturity is very important for knowing how to sing flawlessly. Release date: 23 Jan, 2007
Bloc Party - A Weekend In The City
I knew it! As i said before, many people think or they told me "A Weekend In The City" sucks. No way! I think Bloc Party really started to perform in their own style. The new record won't give you the most radio-friendly music at first spin. But I honestly feel that it'll embrace you after several spin. Bloc Party knows what is "hard work"!
Patrick Wolf - The Magic Position
I know it's early to speak about this upcoming (my upcoming favorite) record, at the same time
it's exciting too. I strongly believe that Patrick did it, and will release a truly great
record, it'll be one of his best yet. Listen the song "Augustune" below and let me know what do you think. Release date: Feb 26, 2007
Vietnam - Vietnam
It's sad not to find detailed info about Vietnam, which is a quite rocking heavily Velvet Underground and Lou Reed influenced indie rock group. Their upcoming self-named record takes part on my daily playlist. We'll see what we can write for this new bright band.
Skinny Puppy - Mythmaker
Good to see the dirty noisy industrial puppies continue the long way, i had chance to drown in the new album, which was a quite confident listen for me. It's because of my familiar with industrial music. Sometimes industrial noises turn to only exit in this life.
Try out:

mp3: Vietnam - Apocalypse
mp3: Patrick Wolf - Augustine (Demo)

Earlies - The Enemy Chorus

Modern Music Review
Psychedelic / Pop / Experimental
Bands in genre psychedelic music have always been hardworking and promising. New album of the Canadian indie rock band combines intelligent pop, sometimes psyche-rock, but in every condition it helps you to fuck everything off. Take one banana to your right hand, a glass of milk on the other, then you need a blender. Mix it! Mix it while you're listening to "The Enemy Chorus". Actually indie rock would be straight term, there are different varied sounds, sometimes psychedelic, sometimes quite electronica music.
Also there is an example of country-electronica combo as shiny as a rainbow. Check "The Ground We Walk On" as a clear sample of the blend. Now that's very impressive. Because on the record good songs come one after another but not a similar way, every song includes quite different compositions. As a favorite of mine "Bad Is As Bad Does" hooks you up and proves how noises should use almost perfectly, reminding sound waves from Japan's Quiet Life to classic Pink Floyd work "Dark Side of the Moon" (except the guitar solos). Their music compared to such genre-defining artists as the Polyphonic Spree, the Flaming Lips, and Mercury Rev. Most of the songs poke me to say 'Yeah it's space rock'. Sometimes this space oriented beats reach highest point, and that makes you a little exhausted listener. While some songs are too low tempo (Little Trooper, Broken Chain), the other ones are too noisy. At the end of record some slob songs crowd. Anyway, every song is precious and has enough potential to hit the sky like a space shuttle.
Think of a fan, if you use it correctly, it'll help you to lighten yourself. "The Enemy Chorus" had the same power, if you could see right colors on it. A perfect choice for rainy, cloudy, breezy weathers. Release date: January 23, 2007

- mp3: Grinderman - Get It On

- mp3: The Earlies - No Love In Your Heart
- Bonnie "Prince" Billy - Lay And Love
- Noisettes - Don't Give Up
- Jarvis – Don’t Let Him Waste Your Time
- Bloc Party - The Prayer
- Arcade Fire - Black Mirror
- Modest Mouse - Dashboard
- Idlewild - No Emotion
- Evanescence – Lithium
It's been a while, i've been searching new good singles since Dec, and no new release, no new singles, but today strong albums and singles knock on the door. You see Noisettes' new single smells chocolate, also new album sounds cool.
I've stuck between the sound waves due to The Earlies' upcoming loony "The Enemy Chorus". The first single "No Love In Your Heart" plays around with dub and spacey psyche-rock all the way up The Earlies collective arse.
Finaly, the most stunning single of the week becomes Grinderman's "Get It On" , Nick Cave's new shotgun. They're grinder men indeed. Find more info about the new single here. Moreover, watch Jarvis' video on youtube.

City, Lights, Apartments, Cars...

Passing city lights one by one, so fast, riding high upon a deep
depression, with a empty look upon your face. Not that easy boy or girl, you chose to live in city, built high structures, gigantic machines. It's not right time to complain now. At the same time it's not rude to express your feelings. A cup of tea your hand, thinking 'I'm only happy when it rains', waiting and chasing days to see a little drop of rain.
Garbage - Only happy when it rains
It's a sad sad thing to see hopeless people sometimes. You think that if i could help someone to cheer him/her up. With songs, and music, you can dream whatever you like. The best thing coming alongthe music is -- to catch your life soundtrack. Even if the song is too depressive , believe that it can help you to smile. Because if your life always is perfect, that time it's the most depressive thing you're dealing with it . 'oh no... please don't wave goodbye wave goodbye'
The Tea Party - Lullaby
...And the best thing of living in city is that it makes you as strong as a classic rock song. Anything can break you down now, you're fullfilled with experiences. Life needs to be strong, we must play our lives like soldiers in the field. And one of my life's backround tune appears...
Killing Joke - Love Like Blood
