Near to Xmas, I chose and brought best sentimental christmas songs for you. We've three awesome melody here. I must admit that you can't find better christmas tunes than these , can you find? Maybe they're a bit old school, besides i'll be posting the new christmas songs, however, they bring love, nostalgia and violent passions that can fill the souls with goodness.
1. Big Star - Jesus Christ
A Christmas song that's worth hearing year-round. This is just terrific, from their masterpiece "Third - Sister Lovers".
It's really hard to find such a precious melody on earth, i'm sure you'll agree with me.
Especially there is a saxophone section to end of the song, love it! I don't know how many times i played the song but there is a turth that it never gets old. I can praise it during hours.
The song which was composed by Alex Chilton, starts by fading into an utterly random piano-and-drums jam by Alex Chilton and Jody Stephens.
Angels from the realms of glory
Stars shone bright above
Royal david's city
Was bathed in the light of love
Jesus christ was born today
Jesus christ was born
2. John Lennon - Happy Xmas (War Is Over)
This was fulled with Lennon's amazing melodies, wishing all the goodness to people, protesting the wars which has always been a huge wound to humanity, yes it's from one of the most importand music man.
3. Elvis Presley - Silver Bells
if there is an absolute truth, my words become weak front of Elvis' art. We should only listen and lie to a soft armchair.
Words & music by Ray Evans - Jay Livingston:
'Silver bells, silver bells It's Christmas time in the city Ring-a-ling, hear them ring Soon it will be Christmas day City sidewalks, busy sidewalks Dressed in holiday style In the air there's a feeling of Christmas Children laughing, people passing Meeting smile after smile And on every street corner you'll hear Strings of streetlights, even stoplights Blink a bright red and green As the shoppers rush home with their treasures Hear the snow crunch, see the kids bunch This is Santa's big scene And above all this bustle you'll hear '
A beautiful day...Christmas. Vol 1.

Mountain Goats - Get Lonely - 2006
Friday, December 08, 2006
Rating: 9.1/10
Modern Music Reviews
Indie Rock, Lo-Fi
The Mountain Goats are one of the more unusual bands to find shelter under the ever-expanding umbrella term of indie rock.
I want some snow to cover my hopeless eyes. Hey, don't you know that i already know about that they work hard to release this albums but i'm no different. I like to live the music, i try to write about it. Sometimes this isn't well-enough. To know how it feels like being someone else or to judge somebody else, you have to walk around with his/her shoes. Writing about music is the nicest thing, if you want to write.
Thanks to The Mountain Goats who encouraged me to write more about music with their songs. What i found is...the innocent voice, colorful pianos, guitar cracks, harmless songs...
Today i was walking on the street alone, suddenly i stopped. I don't know why i stopped. Then i went on walking. I realised the emptiness, that was the silence. I was looking for some rhythm, sound, noise... anything that was able to rescue me from that situation. At that moment, i realised how much i love my home, the cds, my old teapot and of couse, my cracked cup.
I came to home at least. After all these, if The Mountain Goats' "Get Lonely" plays, oh! that's for sure i'll stop to complaint about anything.
Sometimes you want to be alone, that doesn't only mean that you're happy or not. It's because of brain's getting tired. The life is hard and it's cruel more than you can recognize. Everytime It plays different game and it surprises us in diferent ways. "Get Lonely" is what we looking for, it understands human's nature. I apreciated that their name, which they're Taking from the Screamin' Jay Hawkins song "Big Yellow Coat, related the songs' nature. The Goats which are harmless and awesome creatures, The mountains which are high and place of peace.
You're looking for some hidden place where you can rest, you want to hear the beauty slowly, you want more natural music, you want to imagine untouched prettiness, Then "Get Lonely" is hiding there!

Wednesday, December 06, 2006
Warning! These are not some kind of submissive albums. They are
spinning on their own axis, it's for people who love to discover unusual music. Sometimes they make me feel that i'm the only one listening these, and also it doesn't mean that they're ineffective records. Absolutely, they're some kind of treasure trove. As for rock music history, this sort of albums have been inspiration to many bands or musicians.
1. Pere Ubu - Why I Hate Woman

If you're still afraid of darkness, don't even think to listen.
3. Lindsey Buckingham - Under the Skin
Weird glorious acustics
4. Gary Numan - Jagged
Wow! my only dance tunes are in it, the industrial dance.
5. Red Krayola - Introduction
That's perfect, they're keeping the underground career.

His timid voice and solid music depict emotions.
7. The Residents - The River of Crime: Episodes 1-5
They're brilliant and unique in nearly every artistic medium.

Tom Waits - Orphans - 2006
Tuesday, December 05, 2006
Rating: 9.5/10
Modern Music Review
I like my town
With a little drop of poison
Nobody knows
They're linin' up to go insane
Tom Waits ,who is one the most important American songwriter, released this 3-disc set includes 30 brand-new recordings--in addition to the usual mix of covers, soundtrack selections, and other previously uncompiled material.
I'm writing and erasing, writing and erasing...
Tom Waits always help me to change my home's atmosphere, i put "Rain Dogs" (my favorite of 1985) to music centre and i keep my little moments alive. I tried to play his songs along with other artists, he sounds as the biggest, so mature. That's why i dissociate his music from the others. You've always something to say about him.
I smoke my friends down to the filter
But I feel much cleaner
After it rains
And she left in the fall
That's her picture on the wall
She always had that little drop of poison
Brawlers (first disc) : Opening with great drunk, joyful Tom Waits single "Lie To Me", this cd keeps unique cranky style of rock'n roll, taking its soul from American roots music.
Lovely beats, weird various instruments, claps and as the most important Tom Waits'
cracked voice. It sounds like the voice was smitten by thousand barrel drink. "Brawlers" remove the daily routine in your life while you're listening to it. "Road To Peace" can be noted as one of the best work of Tom Waits on the cd. It's a long time, political and eye-catching song. "Sea Of Love" is my another pick, proves his success, points his as the most melancholic song developer. Also that cover song sounds better than the original soundtrack. Heartbroken voice by trembling electric guitars, i know it sounds perfect!
Did the Devil

Make the World
While God was sleeping
You'll never get a wish from a bone
Another long goodbye
And a hundred sailors
That deep blue sky Is my home
Bawlers (second disc): "Widow's Grove" with a Little Drop Of Poison. In life, there are always cruelties and "Shiny Things" which you have to live, things that you can not change. "World Keeps Turning", you have still the chance, a chance which can keep you from being a "Little Man". Never Let Go to the happiness, never say "It's Over". Just say "If I Have To Go" and keep the moment, give a second chance.
As you see from my expressions, they brings wonderful harmony together, these are meaningful songs as well as darkened. This disc remind of an attic where all memories stored, where we don't forget the past, where we can't go on with the past. If you listen "Bawlers" alone, you'll relive the past. It's full of memories , happy and misery moments. I wonder how is your mood after listening "Young At Heart" which is the closing song, totally broken?
And she left in the fall
That's her picture on the wall
She always had that little drop of poison
Well a rat
Always knows
When he's in with weasels
Here you lose a little everyday
Bastards (third disc) : We rocked, we cried and now it's time to joy. He's one the

most impressive romantic, passionate songwriter, at the same time he's
got distinctive sense of humor which "Bastards" proves indeed.
Well I remember
When a million was a million
They all have ways
To make you pay
And she left in the fall
That's her picture on the wall
She always had that little drop of poison
The followers, if "Orphans" doesn't exist in your archive, then that's a good reason to cry while you're listening "Rain Dogs", "Frank Wild Years"
even "Alice". Sir Waits still has wonderful (drunken) voice ,and again his noises
blow us away. He's for sure important figure and one of the most influential artist.
Orphans has a bunch of feelings to get you in, don't miss this out!
MM picks: Road To Peace, Sea Of Love, Widow's Grove, Little Man, What Keeps Mankind Alive

Oasis - Stop The Clocks
Sunday, December 03, 2006
Rating: 3/10
Modern Music Review
Britpop, Pop/Rock
First disc includes the most common Oasis works, i don't know who should buy this record! Fans? Is there any fan who doesn't know about "Layla", "The Importance of Being Idle" and "Wonderwall" which song you hear everywhere. "Rock n Roll Star" and "Cigarettes and Alcohol" which are from "Definitely Maybe". Does Oasis fall down? I don't think so. Their every album sells well but in my opinion they haven't relese any good album since 2000's."Don't Believe the Truth" had dropped by the band after two week I bored and didn't listen anymore, but also they said 'This is the greatest Oasis album in ten years'. I knew it, i know it and i'll know it they always say things like that. The result is other people believe this.
Believe me, today it's hard to pick what is good, what is bad! Because of the morons. Oh, i see they have to earn money with that. What i see is they give high marks to albums and they don't
explain why. They only write some previous info about the artist and give full rating. I don't believe they listen the whole albums, i don't believe they love the bands which they give high rates. It's easy to see the lie. Because don't think i'm a jerk, i see the big Oasis banner on the top. As for the Oasis, still they're counting the same steps. "Layla" wasn't anything more precious than Britney Spears'. As for the "Wonderwall", it's enough, of course i know it's a great song but there are other great bands too. So please don't spend your money to same things, and buy another great bands' album which need your support. Please don't be sorry for the disbanded bands, because you don't support them.
I heard something like 'I don't read reviews because i don't interest what other people
think'. Please don't deny you know that these reviews are very effective. In reviews, you can't find every detail from the album, because of music is personal to all of us. You should go and listen to have something to say.
Thank you Hype Media! You've always been flatter! Oasis isn't an unsuccessful band, but this collection makes no sense, same choruses. Listen Oasis, The Clocks won't stop! You should work hard for the clocks. The Smiths, The Stone Roses, The Kinks couldn't stop the clocks, how can you stop the clocks with a best of.
MM picks: The Masterplan
Listen: Wonderwall
