Commercial Good Albums
I don't like Chilli's Dani california.Because This song seems like a monkey song so boring so same melody. But I can't say it didn't sell. The album is selling great. So i want to put some random reviews here about the album.
This album is mostly slower more mellow songs. Which is fine, and very relaxing. I would have just liked them to have changed it up a little bit speed wise. Thats the only thing that really hindered it for me. All in all this is a very solid, enjoyable, and relaxing album (also very good for makeout sessions lol), but just not their best. Im very pleased though, and it was worth the money.
"Turn it again" (the best John F. solo ever), "Readymade", "21st Century", "So Much I", "Make You Feel Better", "Strip my Mind" and "Hard to communicate". The other disc "Jupiter" is sequenced quite poorly with too many mid tempo songs in a row. These would have been great next to more uptempo numbers. Until "Torture Me" comes up the record is a little sleepy, its true. But "Torture Me" is a big wake up call.
Maybe Most people right about 'it's a great album', but i can easly say it's still commercial.

The Mars Volta- Amputechture (2006)
Album of the day
Well I guess you could say i was an !EAGER BEAVER! for this album. I
heard about it about a month ago and wanted it badly. When I first downloaded "Asilos Magdalena", I was disappointed but not because it was bad. I liked the song, I thought it was pretty cool and sounded nice, but I was looking for something similar to Deloused. Then later I found Vermicide, and liked it. Amazing vocals especially near the end. Meccamputechture was the next, and it was pretty cool. I'd say I liked it more than the others. Then I got the whole album just yesterday, and listened through it twice so far. I'm happy with the album. I think it is, like Frances, a nice combination of their two completely different musical 'souls', if you will. I don't think this is a 5-star album, however, compared to Deloused in the Comatorium. Definately an album worth buying (if you don't mind a little weird).

The Replacements - Don't You Know Who I Think I Was (2006)
Friday, July 07, 2006
Album of the Day
Chronicling The Replacements' gloriously tempestuous decade on a single
disc ostensibly seems akin to reading Cliff's Notes for the New Testament: No sooner do you grow fond of the protagonist than they've nailed him up. And if that comparison sounds a tad sacrilegious, perhaps you underestimate the Mats' hallowed place in modern rock history--and the hearts of their ardent fans. Yet somehow even this condensed format focuses the songs of Paul Westerberg and playing of bandmates Bob and Tommy Stinson and drummer Chris Mars into a dramatic arc that can't be denied. The initial tracks of this 20-track collection display a band joyously besotted by nascent punk thrash, yet one not so different from the scores of similar bands tearing up local clubs in the '80s.

Elliott Smith - XO (1998)
Thursday, July 06, 2006
Album Of The Day
"A year before his major-label debut, XO, was released, it seemed unlikely that
Elliott Smith would even be on a major, let alone having his record be one of the more anticipated releases of 1998. He had certainly earned a great deal of critical respect with his low-key, acoustic indie records and was emerging as a respected songwriter, but he hadn't made much of an impression outside of journalists, record collectors, and indie rockers. An Oscar nomination can change things, however. "Miss Misery," one of Smith's elegantly elegiac songs for Gus Van Sant's Good Will Hunting, unexpectedly earned an Academy Award nomination, and he was
immediately thrust into the spotlight. He was reluctant to embrace instant celebrity, yet he didn't refuse a contract with DreamWorks, and he didn't shy away from turning XO into a glorious fruition of his talents. Smith's songs remain intensely introspective, yet the lush, Beatlesque production provides a terrifically charming counterpoint. His sweetly dark melodies are vividly brought to life with the detailed arrangements, and they sell Smith's tormented songs -- it's easy to get caught up in the tunes and the sound of the record, then realize later what the songs are actually about. That's a sign of a good craftsman, and XO proves that not only can Elliott Smith craft a song, but he knows how to make an alluring pop record as well." Woven Hand
Spotlight
David Eugene Edwards, enigmatic frontman and visionary for 16 Horsepower, began recording under the Woven Hand moniker while Horsepower was on hiatus in 2001. (The name "Woven Hand" refers to hands clasped in prayer; Edwards' Christianity -- he was raised the son of a traveling Nazarene preacher -- is a consistent, driving theme in his music.) Fans of 16HP will instantly recognize the same forces at work in Woven Hand -- e.g., incendiary gospel, hallowed folk and mordant tones infused with a high, dark theatricality worthy of Nick Cave. Edwards worked on the material at home in Denver, recording, producing, and playing on most of the album by himself. Later, he pulled in guitarist Steve Taylor (ex-16 Horsepower) to help flesh out the compositions. The self-titled project was initially released on the German label Glitterhouse; it was issued in the U.S. on Sounds Familyre in early 2003. Along with a parcel of Edwards originals the album includes a knee-buckling take on Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone." That same year, Edwards set to work on Blush Music, a set of compositions created for a modern dance company in Belgium.

James - Whiplash
Wednesday, July 05, 2006
Album Of Week
Whiplash which released in 1997 album of James.Energetic startings with songs
'Tomorrow','Lost A Friend' this album is shining.'Waltzing Along' which we can call a james classic. You'll hear fascinating
vocals in this song, very delicious song.'She's A Star' is one of the spearhead song in this album. Also, you can see this song in best James song. It's not an ordinary britpop melody, combination of Tim Booth vocals and pure guitars are considerable.
'Greenpeace' is bringing itself forward by lyrics.Good lyrics and good bridge after
'She's A Star' and 'Waltzing Along'.
'Go To The Bank' changes atmosphere of album which was more miserable before.
This song is starting with disco beats and low volume vocals.
'Play Dead' has smilarities with 'Go To The Bank' however it has different soul.
'Whiplash' will became a different taste after few spin. We'll see pure guitar
melodies with heavyhearted vocals of Booth at the full of album.'Whiplash' also
can be one of your fav. James album.

Jarvis Cocker puts solo material online(News!)
Tuesday, July 04, 2006
The former Pulp man returns with Live 8-inspired song
Jarvis Cocker has returned - releasing his first solo material onto
the internet.
The former Pulp frontman has posted new song 'Running The World' online, which can be heard now by going to myspace.com/jarvspace.
Although the singer released music as Relaxed Muscle following the demise of Pulp in 2002, this is the first time he has released music under his own name.
"If all the technical bits and pieces are working properly then you should be able to hear a new song I've been working on," Cocker wrote on his webpage. "I wanted you to hear it now cos it's exactly one year since that Live 8 thing and it was the night of that event that I wrote this song."
With the refrain "cunts are still running the world", it's unlikely the song will be played widely on the radio, something Cocker noted.
"I apologise for all the swearing but sometimes that's the only thing that seems appropriate," he explained. "It's in no way a criticism of (Live 8 organiser, Bob) Geldof and co but I remember thinking at the time: 'Where does engaging with these politicians/businessmen really get you?' - 12 months on and the cunts still haven't paid up as far as I can make out - maybe the problem is something more fundamental. Anyway, what do I know? I'm just a pampered rock star - but at least I think it's good to discuss this stuff. Don't you?"
Cocker said that he wanted to know what fans thought of the new track, adding: "I hope this is just the start of a beautiful relationship."

The song comes from 'Out of the Grey' album by 'The Dream Syndicate'.
It's a great song with it's melody with it's lyrics. The name of song is so cute. The Dream Syndicate cover of this song starts with marked drum beats.
And i can say it became perfect to add clearity of drum to this song.
Vocals are remarkable.Guitar solos are flying. It's a pure cover that you
should add this one to your playlist.
Listen
Highlight lyrics:Cinnamon Girl
A dreamer of pictures
I run in the night
You see us together,

HIM - Dark Light
Modern Music Review
Him is a band which could named first album Greatest love songs vol:666 maybe it was a very ridiculous, foolish name but album was original and adorable. But after Him started release such commercial and boring albums.
Dark light isn't an album it is a trade. After their growing famous they started to do albums without meaning. You'll understand after several spin. You won't listen it anymore. There isn't any good things to explore such fake lyrics and some mission uk,sister of mercy influenced vocals.Vocals are always doing the same moan.
If you want to listen same chorus with ordinary guitar melodies then dark light is the adress.
Shit Albums writings will be posted on Mondays.Don't miss these album so if you miss the reviews then you can buy and curse to it:)

Gomez - How We Operate 2006
Sunday, July 02, 2006
Rating:4/10
Modern Music Album Review
Soft indie rock tunes with opening song 'Notice',but this song isn't doing
its job.Without hope it's not an average song.it brokes your desire which needs to listen whole the album.
Their previous two works 'Out West' and 'Split the Difference' are better than this release.'See The World' sounds an ordinary pop guitar song or you can call it britpop. You can stop listening album with these two song.
'How We Operate' changes the atmosphere of goings-on.Maybe this song should be the
opening song.Ambiance of this song can be called rhythmic.
you can expect more from 'Girlshapedlovedrug',But no need to that.i can openly say
this song is insignificant.it repeats the same 'messes with your mind ,messes with your mind'
lyrics.
'Chasing Ghosts With Alcohol' has good guitar melodies. This song sounds more indie
more better with its melody.'Tear Your Love Apart' starts with
continuous guitar riffs and i can say it's succesfull. This guitars are Rising in
choruses. But it's not a great song to listen every play of the album.
The most considerable song is 'Woman Man' from this album. You should listen this one.
But i can't say great for the other compositions. They're very boring songs after
few spin.'Cry On Demand' seems a little delightful but it can't saved the whole
album.
Gomez has better songs at previous albums.I think they should listen more
what they did because this album is totally disapointment and extinguished. It sounds a little stale.
picks:Woman Man,How We Operate

Modern Music picks:We've Been Had
Sunday Songs
For Sure,it's the best the Walkmen song.
Alternative rings are playing and you swing with it.These words maybe can't
explain 'We've Been Had'.You shouldn't spend your time talking on this song, only
listen let yourself relax.Maybe you find yourself singing this song loudly.
Lyrics aren't so great very simple lyrics like:
'See me age 19 with some dumb haircut from 1960, moving to New York City.
Live with my friends there; we’re all taking the same steps..
they’re foolish now.'
But the melody is great and magical.
'We’ve been had.. you say it’s over. Sometimes I’m just happy I’m older.'
I didn't get boring even if i've been listening it for years. You can find this song their album 'Everyone Who Pretended to Like Me Is Gone'
buy from amazon this album only $9.99
