any heavy metal collection. Buy this album or forever be un-metal Plus, since heavy metal is an important part of rock's history, "Paranoid" is a must own for any complete rock collection.. And even if metal isn't your thing, at least give Ozzy, Tony, Terence, and Bob credit for being the influential godfathers of metal, and for making one of the most important albums of all time.
Black Sabbath created a new type of rock with their self titled debut, but it was Paranoid that made people notice. It is quite unusual for a metal band to release an almost instrumental album consisting only of film music. It has been widely known that all the Epica members are big fans of movie soundtracks. In almost every interview they talk about their love for famous movie composers, such as Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman or John Williams. Their release "The Score" An Epic Journey" includes only film music, without metal or rock elements. The album features pieces used for the new Dutch movie, "Joyride." Mark Jansen, Epica's main composer and the drive behind this project, once described this album as "Consign to Oblivion" without grunts, guitars and the rhythm section.

We Will Rock You comedian and author is a musical play, based on the songs of Queen and named after their hit single of the same
name. The musical was written by EnglishBen Elton in collaboration with Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor.
We Will Rock You opened in 2002 at the Dominion Theatre in London, England. The first North American venue was the Paris Las Vegas hotel and casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show has had successful runs in Australia, Tokyo, Moscow and Las Vegas, Nevada, but these productions have since closed. As of 2006 it is still playing in England, Spain, South Africa and Germany.
The original London production was scheduled to close on Saturday 7th October 2006 at the Dominion Theatre. Due to public demand, however, the show has now been extended indefinitely as it enters its fifth year.
In 2006 the show is scheduled to open in Argentina, Canada, Chile, and Portugal with a German language touring production opening in Zurich.
A North American tour and a UK nationwide tour are currently in the pipeline.

Syd Barrett - BARRETT
Barrett was the second and final studio album of new material released by former Pink FloydSyd Barrett. In February 1970, shortly after releasing his first album, The Madcap Laughs, Barrett appeared on John Peel's Top Gear radio show where he
presented only one song from the newly released album. Two days later, he began working on his second album in the Abbey Road Studios, this time with Pink Floyd members David Gilmour and Rick Wright as producers and musicians.

The main aim for the Barrett sessions was to give Syd the structure and focus many felt was missing during the long and unwieldy sessions for The Madcap Laughs. Thus, the sessions were more efficiently run - with much unreleased material recorded - and the album was finished in far less time than it took to complete The Madcap Laughs. In addition, with the unpredictability and at times despairing nature of Madcap greatly decreased, the rigid format of the new sessions ended up giving Barrett a less inventive flavor, as a result.
Nonetheless, Barrett does indeed have some memorable songs, namely "Baby Lemonade", "Dominoes" and "Gigolo Aunt", all of which are as well known to Barrett fans as "See Emily Play" and "Astronomy Domine". Although not generally as highly regarded as The Madcap Laughs, Barrett - of which, the cover was painted by Syd himself - is still a much prized recording from its maker.
While the sessions for Barrett ran more smoothly, it didn't prevent Syd's by-now characteristically bizarre behavior from coming through. On June 6, 1970, Syd gave his one and only solo performance, backed by David Gilmour and Jerry Shirley, and baffled the audience (including Gilmour and Shirley) when he abruptly took off his guitar during the fourth number and walked off stage.

If you are a really big in Flames fan like me then this album is deffinately worth the moolah. Good songs on this are Behind Space, Clad in Shadows, Everlost(I & II) and Upon An Oaken Throne. For some reason on my copy of this album the track listing is the same is one here but when you put the cd in the player Clad In Shadows is actually second, so maybe they screwed up the track order on the cover or something.

Manic Street Preachers (often known colloquially as "The Manics" not "The Preachers") are a British rock band often associated with the Britpop scene, and were one of the biggest bands in Britain for a period in the late 1990s.
The album takes it name from a play by Patrick Jones, Nicky Wire's brother. It was originally going to be called Sounds In The Grass - a painting by Willem de Kooning, who is mentioned on track ten "Interiors (Song for Willem de Kooning)". Other subjects tackled include the tragic life of the photographer Kevin Carter, on the track of the same name, and the maltreatment of animals in captivity on "Small Black Flowers That Grow in the Sky". The latter track, with lyrics by Richey James Edwards, can also be interpreted as an exploration of his mental state before his disappearance; the line "Here chewing your tail is joy" for instance may be as much about Richey's self harm as it is the tormented self injury of zoo animals

Following in the footsteps of his idol Keith Richards, Johnny
Thunders (born John Anthony Genzale, Jr.) lived the ultimate rock & roll life, spending most of his days wasted and churning out tough, sloppy three-chord rock & roll. He made his greatest impact as a member of the New York Dolls, the proto-punk glam rockers of the early '70s. During the late '70s, he was a familiar figure on the New York punk scene, both with the Heartbreakers and as a solo artist. Thunders kept performing and recording until his death in 1991, turning out a series of records that inadvertently documented his descent into heroin addiction.
Belfast Nights is a fairly typical and fairly mediocre live set from Johnny Thunders. The show was recorded in October of 1984 in a trio setting with Keith Yon on bass, and former Heartbreaker and Clash member Terry Chimes on drums. The sound is a bit muddy, and Thunders seems to have had some trouble locating the microphone at times. The performances themselves are not terrible, but lack the spark that makes records like Live at Max's Kansas City and D.T.K. such fun. The fact that "Chinese Rocks" is performed three times in one night and "Pipeline" twice gives the impression that Thunders was just going through the motions.

Breakfast in America is the sixth album by the band Supertramp. It was released in 1979.
The album was recorded in 1978 at The Village Recorder. Tensions between Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies started to come to the fore on this album. Rick didn't like the song Breakfast in America and he didn't want the album titled Breakfast in America and originally opted for either Working Title or Hello Stranger.
The album's front cover was designed by the late Mike Doud and depicted Kate Murtagh as a Statue of Liberty figure holding a glass of orange juice instead of a torch and the background featured a city made from cornflake box, ashtray, cutlery (for the wharfs), eggboxes, vinegar, ketchup and mustard bottles, all spraypainted white. The twin World Trade Center towers appear as two stacks of boxes and the plate of breakfast represents Battery Park where the Staten Island Ferry leaves from.
The back cover photo, depicting the band members having breakfast while reading their respective hometown newspapers, was taken at a diner called "Bert's Mad House."
Despite the turmoil, Breakfast in America became Supertramp's biggest selling album with over 4 million copies sold in the US alone to date and was #1 on Billboard's Pop Albums Chart for six weeks in the spring and summer of 1979. The album also hit #1 in Europe, Canada and Australia.
